The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is a UK-wide organisation grant funded by Innovate UK - for whom it is a network partner. It brings together businesses, academics, Government agencies and research organisations to facilitate knowledge transfer and to build better links between science, creativity and business.
The network’s main objectives are to increase business-led research and development in the UK, increase collaboration between businesses (B2B) and between businesses and the research base (B2R) and facilitate the exploitation of R&D to help the UK capture more value from innovation.
KTN has released a newsletter for the manufacturing and materials industry highlighting events and funding competitions. The newsletter can be found here.
Funding opportunities include (not limited to):
- Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing Fund to support the implementation of product and process development, and the introduction of technology to the SME manufacturing sector, in the NE LEP area
- The Circular Economy Fund (WRAP Cymru) for investment funding in use of recycled materials for welsh-based businesses
- Innovate UK will launch the new design-led Sustainability in Plastics Design competition at the start of June 2020.
