As England moves back to the COVID tier system following lockdown, British Marine has received confirmation from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) regarding Tier 2 and 3 travel guidance for essential boat maintenance.
The Gov.uk website states the following:
For Tier 2:
“People can travel to a tier 2 area to maintain assets including second homes, caravans and boats.”
For Tier 3:
“Residents should avoid travelling or making overnight stays outside their local area, unless necessary for activity such as work, education or youth services, for maintaining assets such as second homes, caravans and boats or to meet caring responsibilities.
“People who live outside a tier 3 area should avoid entering or making overnight stays there, unless necessary for activity such as work, education or youth services, to meet caring responsibilities or if travelling through as part of a longer journey. This is the case even for people who live in a different tier 3 area.”
