The Communities Secretary has confirmed that measures to protect businesses from eviction will be extended until March 2021.
This final extension will give landlords and tenants three months to come to an agreement on unpaid rent.
The measure is designed to support businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and help them to rebuild over the winter period.
The restriction on landlords using Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery (CRAR) to recover unpaid rent will also be extended until the end of March. This will allow businesses sufficient time to pay any rent owed.
Further guidance to support negotiations between landlords and tenants will be published shortly.
