Finance Assistant job specification:
The position of P/T Finance Assistant is 20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-2:30pm. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities include:
Running and checking insurance bordereaux
Reconciling insurance bordereaux against loss funds/bank accounts
Data checks to ensure claims are being recorded on the correct UMR which feeds into the loss funds/banks accounts
Entering payment details from the loss funds/bank accounts into the Claims Management System as these feed into the insurance bordereaux
Paying company invoices
Creating/issuing company invoices through the Claims Management System and Xero accounting software
Company bookkeeping through Xero accounting software
Supporting/assisting with external audits
Running and analysing the company Work in Progress (WIP) reports
Providing bespoke MI to stakeholders
Other ad-hoc MI/data requests
Desirable skills:
Candidates must have strong MS Excel skills
Data entry and analysis experience
Bookkeeping experience is desired, however accreditations are not required
Experience reconciling accounts
Excellent communication skills
Able to follow instructions and work to deadlines
Must be extremely organised
Workplace and benefits:
Training will take place at our registered offices in Poole before moving to Hybrid working; time split between Working from Home (WFH) and our Poole office, in line with the rest of the team. The successful candidate must therefore be able to work independently and communicate well via internal messaging systems and video-cons (VC). The WFH environment must allow the candidate to have adequate space to set up a company provided laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and phone head set to ensure efficient working. The environment must also be inbound call friendly with limited background noise and sufficient broadband strength to support VoIP.
The role is 20 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-2:30pm. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance. With a competitive salary of £18,850 p/a, the position has holiday entitlement including Bank Holidays. After three continuous years of employment with the company your holiday entitlement increases by an additional day every year (subject to conditions). You will also receive paid leave on your Birthday, paid half day for Christmas Eve, paid half day for New Years Eve and the opportunity to utilise 2 paid volunteer days per year (all subject to conditions).
