Boatyard Operations Supervisor
Location Wales
Opening Date 3 October 2024
Closing Date 31 October 2024

Who are we?

Western Marinas are on a mission to create marinas to be proud of, realising the potential of Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Watchet marinas, as well as Cardiff Marine Village and the associated Dredging Division.

Our team is the cornerstone of our success, and we're on the lookout for passionate individuals who share our commitment to excellence. If you're driven, enthusiastic, and ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive environment, Western Marinas is the perfect place for you to build your career and be a part of something truly special.

About the Role

The Boatyard Operations Supervisor role is pivotal in our plans to maximise the usage of the Sealift at Cardiff Marina and the lifting hoist and Drystack at Cardiff Marine Village. It would include managing and operating these areas, ensuring total health and safety compliance and providing first-class customer and tenant relations at Cardiff Marine Village. There also will be some health and safety support for the rest of the group (in conjunction with our Health and Safety Consultant). This role reports directly to Cardiff Marina Manager with a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer regarding Health and Safety measures.

This is a full-time role and will be primarily based on-site at our Cardiff Marine Village and, to a lesser extent, Cardiff Marina. The two sites are approximately 30 minutes' walk or 5 minutes car journey, from each other so ideally someone who has their own transport to travel between the two on an ad-hoc basis. Normal working hours are 08.30 to 16.30, however, as this role grows and the team around the role settles into routines, it may become more flexible.

About You

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with significant experience in a similar role to be part of a growing business and to build working procedures and practices that are professional, safe and efficient.

For this role, you must hold relevant lifting equipment certificates. Ideally, we would like someone with Health and Safety qualifications but someone with in-depth knowledge in this area will be sufficient. We are happy to discuss someone looking to gain H&S qualifications that we can support through this process.

Why Join Western Marinas?

We’re a new company with a new management team and new investors. Its an exciting time and you will have the opportunity to carve a role within a growing business and input into building the process and procedures scaffolding.
