Silvers Marine (A division of GSS Plant Ltd) have an exciting role available as a Boatyard Manager in the Helensburgh area.

We are looking for a proven leader, a boatyard manager with extensive knowledge of vessel construction & repairs, plant and lifting experience from the marine sector. You should ideally hold health and safety qualifications including ISOH and have a passion for delivering first class service to a loyal customer base and to seek new and additional opportunities for growth.

Main duties include:

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Boatyard and Storage Operation; to ensure the effective and efficient running of repairs and lifting operations.
• Prepare estimates for vessel repairs for customers including private leisure vessels and small commercial craft, including liaising with on-site contractors and assessing and inspecting vessels for repair estimates in the Yard or Outport.
• Liaise with customers on progress of works, updating costs and estimates and coordinating and managing contractors.
• Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly checks are carried out and recorded as per company policies and procedures. Ensuring all defects are reported and resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure all legal, HSE and company policies including financial polices are being adhered to.
• Lead and oversee and be accountable for all boatyard administration to ensure all records are maintained accurately.
• Assist with the lifting of boats within the boatyard and storage operations when required.
• Hold weekly staff meetings and undertake appraisals and on-going performance monitoring and management where necessary.
• Recruit staff as required ensuing the business is employing customer focused, flexible, smart and positive individuals, while also being responsible for disciplinary matters should the need arise.  
• Coach staff to monitor customer’s satisfaction while constantly improving the customer experience ensuring excellence in customer service at all times.
• Formulate Boatyard budgets and pricing policy. To accurately and weekly forecast site activity and create offers to drive activity to meet your revenue targets.
