DBT is a ministerial department, supported by 19 agencies and public bodies.

The new Labour Government has launched a consultation on Invest 2035, a 10-year plan focused on the UK’s growth sectors, which crucially aims to deliver the certainty and stability businesses need to invest.  Its development could bring opportunities for the marine industry and this Green Paper is widely viewed as being a ‘sound start’ to developing a modern industrial strategy.

By listening to businesses, the Government plans to bring forward coordinated sector-specific and cross-cutting policies to support businesses to overcome barriers. It will identify effective levers to aid the UK's growth sectors, including interventions in regard to people and skills, energy and infrastructure, the regulatory environment and international trade.

The consultation can be accessed here: Invest 2035: The UK's Modern Industrial Strategy

The consultation closes at 11:59pm on 24 November 2024.
