Most businesses are not required by law to lower carbon emissions, although certain large companies must measure and report them, but with the governments focus on decarbonisation there may well be a carbon tax or environment legislation that affects your business in the future.
There also may be good reasons to start reporting your carbon emissions voluntarily, if you sell to larger businesses that must report their emissions, or you may chose to analyse your energy and transport costs to reduce them or prepare for those future legal changes.
