Following the 11^th session of the IMO  Sub-Committee on Ship Systems and Equipment (SSE), held from the 24-28 February 2025, ICOMIA, The International Council of Marine Industry Associations, has published a full report.

The main items of interest from this meeting were the following:

• Progress on the comprehensive review of MSC.402(96) which deals with the requirements for maintenance, thorough examination, operational testing, overhaul and repair of lifeboats and rescue boats, launching appliances and release gear.
• Draft unified interpretation of manual hoisting of a rescue boat
• Continued work on the requirement to carry self-righting or canopied reversible life rafts
