The MCA has released a consultation on the Inland Waterways Working Time directive. When this was introduced, there were serious concerns from industry that the regulations were not suitable for the UK's waterways, the regulations were not flexible enough and they were ultimately going to cost industry a lot of money.
Due to the fact it was an EU directive at the time the UK could not significantly change the text from the EU directive. However the MCA are now seeking your views on how the IWWTD has affected your business and if any changes are now needed. This is industries opportunity to try and affect change to the regulations.
