Southern Planning Practice celebrate 30 years
17 October 2024

This year, Southern Planning Practice celebrates 30 years of business, consulting on a diverse range of projects throughout the South of England and across the country.

To mark the 30th anniversary, Southern Planning hosted a drinks event at Chesil House in Winchester and it was great to see so many faces from a variety of sectors, including the Marine industry. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to work with members of the Marine sector and provide advice on a range of projects involving waterways, in addition to assisting in securing a variety of different planning permissions.

Southern Planning Practice has previously worked with British Marine in consulting on adaptations to the Marine Planning System for England, and helping British Marine members to navigate their concerns associated with this. Similarly, Southern Planning assisted on a project at Thornham Marina to introduce a set of custom-built Ark-900 boats as ‘innovative floating retreats’, which launched in 2019 and now stand as a key part of the marina’s use and character.

In addition to these projects, the practice played a vital role in supporting the London Canal Museum in installing a permanent pontoon to allow visitors to explore a historic canal boat. In the past, our team has thoroughly enjoyed assisting in projects that benefit the Marine industry and we hope to continue assisting the sector and providing advice on a range of projects.
