Superyacht UK (SYUK) are pleased to confirm that the annual Superyacht UK Technical Seminar, is set to return to London on 9 April 2024, at the Dickens Inn, St Katharine Docks, London.
Now in its 13th year, the SYUK Technical Seminar is an established and essential event in the superyacht calendar, attracting international professionals to discuss critical sector-specific topics. It offers an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to engage with current trends, regulatory updates, and innovative solutions shaping the future of the superyacht sector.
This year’s seminar features an exciting line up of speakers and topics, including updates on important industry matters such as the latest regulatory changes including an REG code update from The Cayman Island Shipping Register on the latest amendments coming into force in July this year.
The seminar will then move onto discussing industry hot topics, Maritime Aviation will discuss helicopter superyacht facilities and crew training, with a focus on the unique challenges faced by private superyachts. Warsash Maritime Training/Solent University will provide insights into crew training for alternative fuel usage, and we will take a further look at work being done within the industry on sustainability, including carbon footprint measurements, updates on lithium batteries and how to meet new insurance clauses, and more.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Ben Medland of Drift Energy. Ben, who is a pioneer in the field of sustainable marine energy solutions, will share insights into Drift Energy's innovative concept aimed at transitioning Superyachts to alternative fuels. With a focus on green hydrogen production, alongside tackling storage and delivery challenges, marking a significant step towards sustainable and secure fuel sources for the superyacht industry.
