Flexiteek International AB has moved to a new state-of-the-art location in Fagersta, Sweden, after more than 23 years in their original production facility.
The new location represents a significant investment by Flexiteek AB and owners Watrium, and supports a growing global production capacity to support the groups’ other manufacturing hubs in the UK and Poland.
The relocation in Fagersta supports local jobs and opportunities in the community, with a significant level of investment in the area. The new building has been designed to help increase production capacity with a large-scale warehouse and new team offices.
Tomas Gustafsson, CEO at Flexiteek commented, “We are very excited to be moving to our new home in Fagersta. The new building is incredibly energy efficient and will help us to meet our sustainability obligations. It will also help to improve our productivity, allowing us to meet the increased demand for our products around the world.”
Flexiteek International has been working hard to deliver a sustainable future for the business with IS0: 14001 Accreditation for the UK manufacturing location and a global Ecovadis Bronze rating. In addition, Flexiteek is in the fifth year of its global tree planting programme (40,000 trees) in partnership with World Land Trust. To support their strategy this new location has been developed with advanced energy technology including a ground source heat pump system with six ground boreholes of approximately 200m in depth that produce heat, and energy is created from the rooftop solar panel array, helping to make the building Flexiteek’s most energy efficient. There is also an energy-efficient product warming room to help improve the preparation process for the production of a new deck.
An important consideration for the new location has been the inclusion of excellent team facilities. Flexiteek has clear global values that place an important emphasis on its teams around the world. There is a smart new team room, changing facilities with showers, and even a sauna to support wellbeing at work.
The new building is 1,400m² with 150m² of office and conference room facilities and was officially opened on Wednesday 5th June with an invited group of leading business people from Fagersta.
