British Marine is calling for all members to take part in the Maritime Clean Fuel Forecasting survey, being run by the University of Exeter.
The ICOMIA-led report, ‘Pathways to Propulsion’, identified that alternative fuels is going to be a significant component of any successful marine industry decarbonisation strategy, but with many national sectors all vying for use of what will be a limited resource, ensuring access will only be possible by proving why we need it.
The University of Exeter's Centre for Future Clean Mobility (CFCM) is undertaking a bottom-up study to assess the demand for alternative fuels in the UK maritime sector, as part of a wider work programme on vessel and port decarbonisation. As a stakeholder in this industry, the University wish to understand your views on what the decarbonisation transition might look like over the coming 15 years, what you see as driving this transition, and what barriers to, and solutions for, decarbonisation you are aware of.
Please spend 10 to 15 minutes of your time to complete the short survey on this topic.
You can find the survey here: Maritime Clean Fuel Forecasting
The (anonymised) results of this work will be made public and will help to:
Influence the development of policy and regulation
Influence future innovation funding for clean fuels in the maritime industry
Ensure that the UK maintains a leading position in maritime decarbonisation
In return for your time, and if you are willing (please indicate in the survey), the University will enter you into a prize draw for a bottle of Champagne - delivered to your doorstep. For the avoidance of doubt, please note that the bottle of Champagne is funded by the project partners, not the project funder.
