11 July 2024

British Marine Professional Services Association (PSA) is delighted to announce the tremendous success of its Charity & Conservation Coastal Walk, which took place on 04 July, from the beautiful Barton-on-Sea, to Lymington Yacht Haven.

The event brought together over 50 participants from various industries, all walking to support The Andrew Simpson Foundation. The event also teamed up with UOCEAN® 2050, who advocate for environmental issues through community engagement, PR campaigns and actively involving ethnic minority and underrepresented communities, empowering them to engage in conservation to protect the future of our oceans.

The Charity & Conservational Coastal Walk covered a scenic route of 16 kilometres. Participants enjoyed stunning coastal views, vibrant natural landscapes, and the chance to network with fellow professionals in a relaxed and informal setting.

Highlights from the Event:

  • Date: July 4, 2024
  • Time: 10.30– 18.00
  • Starting Point: Barton-on-Sea

The PSA is proud to announce that all proceeds from the event will benefit the Andrew Simpson Foundation : The Sailing Charity; dedicated to transforming lives through sailing. “We are thrilled with the success of our Charity Coastal Walk,” said Paul Knox-Johnston - Chairman of the PSA Association. “It was inspiring to see so many professionals come together to support a local charity. The enthusiasm and generosity of our community made this event truly special. We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making a difference.”

Participants enjoyed refreshments along the route and a lively celebration at the finish line, complete with music and food. The event was not only a testament to the community spirit, but also a great way to enjoy the outdoors and stay active.

The PSA would like to extend a special thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and participants who made this event possible. Your support and dedication is greatly appreciated. There is still time to donate to this fantastic charity by clicking here.

About the Professional Services Association:

The Professional Services Association is a group association within British Marine, consisting of companies within Insurance, Finance and Legal professions providing specialised services for boats and the boating industry since the 1800’s. In 1994, with the encouragement and support of The BMIF (now British Marine) General Council, it was decided that a representative association should be formed for those firms, who were Federation members. The more recent addition of accountants and related professionals has completed this.
