The UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) has appointed Henri-Lloyd as its Official Performance Clothing Partner. Based in Cowes, Isle of Wight, UKSA is one of the largest maritime training providers in the world, with over 6000 young people experiencing life-enhancing water-based adventures each year. In addition, UKSA’s MCA and STCW-endorsed professional training sees some 2,000 people each year gaining the knowledge and skills to embark on careers in the marine sector.
The partnership with Henri-Lloyd will see all UKSA staff and instructors kitted out in the very latest high-performance technical clothing, keeping them warm, safe and comfortable in all conditions, both onshore and at sea. UKSA students will also enjoy a personal service from the Henri-Lloyd Cowes store to select their required Henri-Lloyd clothing and accessories at beneficial rates.
Henri-Lloyd has a heritage spanning seven decades, and the new 2024/25 sailing collections have been designed to keep people safe, dry and comfortable. From coastal and inland boating through to the most extreme offshore conditions and including high-octane racing – where the brand is being used by INEOS Britannia in this year’s America’s Cup campaign.
Knut Frostad, Executive Chairman at Henri-Lloyd said: “We’re delighted to be recognised as the Official Performance Clothing Partner at UKSA. Our two organisations share similar values and a love of sailing - UKSA was established over 35 years ago thanks to the desire by its founders Sylvia and Noel Lister to introduce as many young people as possible to the inspiration and challenge of sailing. Henri-Lloyd was founded in 1963 with the ambition of revolutionising clothing that would enable people to be safe, dry and comfortable in all conditions. By helping UKSA students and participants benefit from access to the very best technical and performance clothing, we hope they will enjoy their time on and off the water.”
Chris Frisby, Director of Training and Operations at UKSA said: “UKSA is a maritime youth charity which provides life-enhancing water-based adventures, education, and world-leading maritime training working closely with funders and partners to assist young people from any background to access UKSA programmes. It is thanks to the support and generosity from organisations like Henri-Lloyd that enables us to continue to remove socio-economic barriers and open the accessibility of the maritime industry. We’re delighted to be partnering again with Henri-Lloyd, a company that shares the same ethics and values as we do.”
