Cockwells’ Hardy 50DS will be making her world debut at The South Coast and Green Tech Boat Show, which takes place within Southampton’s Ocean Village Marina between 19 and 21 April 2024.
Combining the practicality and performance of a rugged, go-anywhere cruiser with contemporary finishes, fittings and internal styling, this Category A sea-faring Hardy 50DS, designed by Andrew Wolstenholme, incorporates the very latest technology, such as an Empirbus digital switching and monitoring system, and heated wheelhouse screens, not to mention all the comforts of a home from home.
Unlike most Category A motor yachts, the new Hardy 50DS is capable of speeds in excess of 25 knots but is equally comfortable at 8 knots with a range of more than 1500 miles.
As well as delivering a double-berth en-suite owner’s stateroom; two double berth guest cabins with shared heads and shower, a vast deck saloon and large protected cockpit area for reclining and dining in luxury, this particular Hardy 50DS also includes the option of a fantastically spacious flybridge, complete with open helm and aft deck, to enable al fresco dining beneath the stars, outdoor relaxation in the heat of the sun or an idyllic vantage point from which to admire the view.
A full-beam bathing platform enables you to dive into the blue with ease as well as store a 3.8m RIB. A spacious lazarette beneath the cockpit sole provides ample space for the Seakeeper 6 giro stabiliser and any number of water toys, bicycles or deck accessories.
“Our all-new Hardy 50DS provides an exceptionally luxurious and safe environment for ocean crossings and long-distance cruising,” explains Founder and Executive Chairman, Dave Cockwell. “What’s more, the capacious layout of this model, with its optional flybridge, offers versatility for all members of the family or a group of friends.”

Cockwells will also exhibit its award-winning Duchy 35 at this event.
With more than 70 Duchy Motor Launches having been sold to date, this stylish launch combines classic styling with modern luxury, and continues to increase in popularity with every year that passes.
The Duchy 35 is the perfect cruising yacht for up to ten day guests or a luxurious weekend berth for two. With a spacious cockpit and expansive saloon, this design also offers additional flexibility in that you can select either a single or twin cabin layout.
On display at The South Coast and Green Tech Boat Show will be a classic single master cabin Duchy 35 with a galley down below, and a welcoming saloon, complete with ample seating, drinks fridge and sunroof. This saloon opens up onto a large outdoor seating area, which is perfect for entertaining.
The Duchy 35 can be found at Stand 65. “At Cockwells, we respect the traditions of the much-loved Hardy originals but are proud to develop this respected brand for new generations to enjoy,” adds Dave Cockwell. “The Hardy 50DS offers stylish, open plan living to cater for family and friends at all stages of life and as with our popular range of Duchy Motor Launches, we can customise your Hardy in any way you choose, to reflect your unique requirements, lifestyle and tastes. Having previously launched our first diesel/electric motor yacht – the Hardy 42 Hybrid – we have proved our capacity for innovation in the green tech space and continue to explore the capabilities of electric propulsion.”
