Meet the Designers

Superyacht UK Young Designer 2024 | Finalist

Amel Khsouma recently graduated from Coventry University with a major in Automotive and Transport Design.  

She has a rich cultural background, with a heritage of both Tunisian and Italian descent.  Prior to her studies in the UK, Amel pursued Nautical Science in Italy.  She made the decision to come to the UK with the intention of accessing better educational opportunities and building a promising career in the field of Yacht design.  

Amel’s passion and ambition are the driving forces behind her aspirations.

Daniel is an international student in the UK, coming from Slovakia.  He built his foundation in fine arts while attending art school at a young age.  

He enrolled for a BA in Automotive and Transport Design at Coventry, where he is currently finishing his Master studies. Daniel’s passion for yacht design ignited during a family sailing trip in the Mediterranean.  

He is drawn to yacht designs' unique blend of engineering and artistic freedom it provides, escaping the constraints of land-based vehicles.  He enjoys pushing boundaries and is looking forward to the challenge of this competition.

An automotive design student with a background in games design who is passionate about cars and motorsport.

As a young designer, Josh is very interested in the prospect of participating in the yacht designing competition. Designing has always been close to his heart.

Beyond the thrill of competition, Josh is eager to showcase his talent, learn from professionals, and contribute to the industry of yacht design.

Oliver is a recently graduated Automotive and Transport Design student from UWTSD Swansea College of Art.

Always being interested in the creative process, his passion resides with fast cars and impressive yachts, all in his strive for true bespoke design and innovation.

His degree has been a checkpoint in a journey he has been on since as early as he can remember.  From Lego to CAD, developing his skills and chasing experiences.  The Superyacht UK Young Designer Competition is the next challenge Oliver is looking forward to undertaking.

Amy-Jane is from Guernsey and studies Interior Design at the University of Plymouth.

She has a strong interest in the design of yachts and superyachts, and the associated sense of adventure and exoticism.  She has enjoyed coming up with design concepts for superyachts as part of the selection process for the university.

The competition will be a great experience to help her to understand design concepts in the yachting industry, and to also build upon her sketching skills.

Pattison is a product designer who aims to create objects that are as emotionally durable as they are physically. 

Participation in this competition really appeals to him as he loves sketching and any excuse to improve his skills.  Jack is currently president of the Student Design Society, through the society, a “Sketch Club” has been established to hone the skills specifically for this competition.

Adedicated, hardworking and passionate transport design student, looking for a new challenge.

Kasper is a dedicated designer that loves trying new things and gaining experience in any way he can.  

Taking part in the competition will broaden Kasper’s horizons and teach him skills on how to design under pressure.

Aspiring yacht designer with a passion for sleek lines and innovative concepts, driven for his designs to become famous.

From the age of 12 Oscar has wanted to be a Yacht Designer.  He started a small sketch book while on a sailing holiday with his grandfather and since then has continued to enjoy sketching concepts and designs of all yacht types.

Pairing his love of design to his love of the water has seen him attend Solent University to study Yacht Design and Production.  Oscar thoroughly enjoys the process of designing a yacht and one day hopes to bring his own unique designs to the yacht market.

Archie Ritchie is a final year undergraduate studying Automotive and Transport Design at UWTSD, Swansea.

He has been around ships his whole life, as his Dad has been in the Royal Navy since he was little.  He didn’t initially have a strong interest in ships/yachts until he recently started a project for a 90-meter yacht on his design course.  Since beginning his project, he has come to the realisation it's something he is interested in pursuing.

Jasper is 21 years old and from Portsmouth.  He is a graduate of Portsmouth University in Product Design and Innovation.  He has always had a keen interest in design from a young age and has had the fortunate opportunity to choose this as a career path.  Jasper hopes to further improve on his skills and gain relevant knowledge and experience to help him improve and become a more well-rounded designer.

Another interest of Jasper is music and he has a keen passion for producing and DJ’ing in his spare time, often hosting small gatherings and DJ’ing for his friends.

Marcus is currently studying Automotive and Transport Design at Staffordshire University, where he has been able to develop his knowledge and skills through multiple design mediums.  He is deeply passionate about creating innovative designs, and further developing as a designer. 

Beyond his studies, Marcus greatly enjoys travelling the world, as it allows him to experience different cultures and draw inspiration from various design perspectives.  Each journey enriches his understanding and fuels his creativity, driving him to develop unique and impactful designs.

Phil would like to take part in this competition to gain great experience and insight, for example, seeing yachts in the flesh, something that is incredibly valuable for a young designer.  

Phil has previously been an athlete, so he is a competitive person and eager to take part.  Meeting other like-minded people can be a great opportunity to gain inspiration and knowledge.
