Dear Esteemed Colleagues and Visionaries of the UK Superyacht Industry,
I am writing to you today as the Chairman of Superyacht UK, not only solely to our members, but to every person represented in our remarkable sector.
We stand at a pivotal moment — where our legacy and future intersect. Before us is a monumental yet exhilarating challenge: to inspire the imaginations of the up-and-coming generation. These young minds, largely remain unaware of the marine industry’s existence, let alone an enticing prospect of a career with superyachts. I believe as a sector we can unite, and synchronise our efforts, to enlighten and engage these potential pioneers and future leaders of the industry. Any hesitation or failure to act now will only exacerbate the recruitment challenges many face, for years to come.
The beauty of our industry, especially within the UK, is its inclusivity. We offer an incredible array of career opportunities, that cater to every academic pursuit. We must illuminate these paths, showcasing the opportunities to excel.
My vision is to harness our collective drive — to align and amplify the incredible work you do into a cohesive, strategic campaign that captures the hearts and minds of our future leaders.
So, how can you help?
Here at Superyacht UK, we would like to unveil this ambition at the Southampton International Boat Show (13 to 22 September 24), to the eager eyes of one thousand (plus) students. If you could join our pledge to the future generation, lend your media, your promotional prowess, and your unique skills so that we can create a mosaic of opportunities it would be much appreciated.
We are seeking:
- Videos showcasing of our finest vessels and general superyacht world
- Stories of apprentices finding their place in the industry
- Stories of cadets forging their futures
- Images/Videos of ongoing efforts
- Opportunities these students can engage with now, or look forward to joining in their career
Every narrative is a precious thread in the tapestry of our industry and only you can provide that to us at Superyacht UK. Any media you are willing to share for this good cause can be securely shared through this link.
