It encourages the training and development of individuals working in this sector, whilst simultaneously identifying, debating and resolving specific issues affecting professional boat dealers and yacht brokers. Members of the BRBA, which numbers some 200 businesses based in the UK, must adhere to a British Marine Code of Practice supported by training courses, professional guidance, and government legislation.
The BRBAs strength and reach is considerable, powered as it is by a superb committee of business owners and the Legal/Marcomms teams at British Marine. This has led to a number of notable successes recently, from influencing post-Brexit government policy, to delivering world class training, to supporting brokers with specific challenges on individual boat deals.

Business Care
The BRBA is a division of British Marine dedicated to representing businesses involved in the sale of new and pre-owned boats. If your business specializes in boat sales, you are automatically a member of the BRBA. Additionally, you’ll be part of your local regional association, such as British Marine London Thames Valley or British Marine Midlands, ensuring strong regional representation.
The BRBA serves two key functions;
Advocacy & Industry Representation
The BRBA communicates directly with British Marine, HM Government, HMRC, Border Force, and other relevant authorities to enhance professionalism and improve the trading environment for yacht brokers and boat dealers across the UK.
Support & Guidance for Members
The BRBA provides its members with essential advice, guidance, information, and support, ensuring they can operate effectively, professionally, and in full compliance with legal and industry standards.
Essentially, you do! The BRBA operates with input from its members. A local Committee member near your business reports on industry developments, market conditions, policy concerns, and opportunities for improvement. This ensures real-time feedback and continuous representation. Additionally, the Committee meets quarterly to review key industry projects and initiatives.
