Feedback from British Marine members has resulted in a British Marine careers campaign to go live in March 2016. Members are keen to promote the opportunities within their businesses and the marine industry as a whole and to attract the the best candidates.

To raise the profile of careers within the marine industry
Campaign toolkit
This toolkit will provide items to enable staff and members to engage with the target audiences as well as careers advisers.
- Careers films targeting 10-14 year olds and 15-21 year olds
Timings
A year-long campaign, which will launch during National Apprenticeship Week, 14-18 March 2016.
The focus for 2016 will be on 15-21 year olds.
Peak times for this campaign will be March – end of May and mid-October to mid-November. This is when exams are taking place in the summer and when universities may be holding careers fairs.
Film
The film will be between 2-3 minutes long and will be shot on location with a British Marine member. It will depict a number of disciplines, to convey the range of careers available within the industry. It will show the end product, with a range of images of finished boats to cover numerous sectors, and which roles go towards the designing, building and selling of these boats.
Tactics
Utilise communication channels to collect feedback, communicate, build awareness and promote the campaign film, website and British Marine members who offer relevant career opportunities. Timings of tactics are based on specific times of year relevant to school or university exams and when students make their subject choices.
