Serving our members

British Marine is the membership organisation for the leisure, superyacht, and small commercial marine industry. With a rich heritage spanning over a century, it serves as a unifying voice and a source of expertise and guidance, playing a crucial role in promoting and protecting the interests of over 1,200 members, which are drawn from a wide cross-section of the UK boating industry, from boat builders and equipment manufacturers to service providers and marina operators.

Our members are the heartbeat of the UK marine industry, collectively contributing to 60% of the industry's impressive annual revenue of over £4.2 billion, with a significant 29% of this being exported globally.

At the forefront of British Marine's mission is the commitment to fostering industry growth and sustainability. This is accomplished through a multifaceted strategy that includes:

We are the industry's voice at both national and international levels, collaborating with government bodies and regulatory agencies to influence policies and legislation crucial to the marine sector.

British Marine is a hub of expertise, offering members access to vital technical, legal and environmental advice, along with market research and industry data. This support is essential in navigating the complexities of the marine industry.

Recognising the importance of a skilled workforce, we actively promote training and professional development within the industry, ensuring our members are at the forefront of marine expertise.

Through organising and supporting boat shows and events both in the UK and overseas, we provide invaluable platforms for members to showcase their products and services and forge global connections.

Committed to the health of our oceans and reducing the environmental footprint of industry, including the carbon footprint produced by recreational boating.  British Marine champions sustainable practices within the industry, encouraging members to adopt eco-friendly approaches to preserve marine ecosystems.
