Reminder: Submit your claim for the COVID-19 Statutory Sick Pay Scheme

Employers can now apply to HMRC to recover the costs of COVID-19 related sick pay. 

This scheme is open to all small and medium sized businesses with fewer than 250 members of staff.

Through the scheme, employers will receive the repayments for eligible periods of sickness which started on or after 13 March 2020. 

The repayment will cover up to two weeks of SSP for each employee that was off work because they:

  • Have COVID-19;
  • Are self-isolating and are unable to work from home; or
  • They are shielding because they’ve been advised that they are at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19
