The draft Marine Plans for all UK regions have now been made available for consultation and comment. The five regional Marine Plans which collectively make up the Government National Marine Plans and Strategy for the next 25 years are now available for comments by the public, this includes British Marine members.
The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has now completed the draft Regional Marine Plans and has made them available for public consultation. It is essential that all British Marine members and businesses review the plan for their areas and respond with comments on areas of concern or if they feel the plans have not taken into account considerations that could benefit the industry in the future. A draft Marine Plan becomes a Statutory Consideration once published, so if no comments or feedback are received it will become statutory legislation once the consultation is over and the plans are published. The consultation is only open for twelve weeks and closes on 6 April 2020.
This is our opportunity as an industry to comment and be a part of the decision-making progress. It will make up the national marine development for the next 25 years and is part of your future. The links below are the draft plans and how to respond to the consultation.
