British Marine was very sorry to hear that John Pleace sadly passed away on the 24 January after a short illness.
Johnny, as he was affectionately known, had worked on the River Thames for many years originally in partnership with Michael Turk running The Barnard Piling & Dredging Company and later in the early 90’s founding J A Pleace Riverworks Ltd.
After his retirement John still took an active role working tirelessly representing the industry on a number of committees for the good of the River Thames including The Yacht Harbour Association. He was an active member of British Marine London & Thames Valley latterly becoming President Emeritus although he was always there with help and advice, never expecting anything in return.
Johnny will be sadly missed by all those in the industry who knew him.
