Following the latest Advanced Marina Management (AMM) course in Athens, three more marina professionals have met the criteria for Certified Marina Manager (CMM) or Certified Marina Professional (CMP) accreditations.

The marina professionals who have achieved CMM or CMP are as follows:

Henk Gravestein CMM, Marina Manager at Jachthaven Bruinisse BV

Henk joined Jachthaven Bruinisse in 2007 as Project Manager for the renewal and extension of the Marina. After a couple of months, he was asked by the owners to take over the general management of the Marina. With his commercial background he immediately started to change the organisation to a more commercial thinking and customer friendly company. Coming from an intermediate marina with 550 berths, Jachthaven Bruinisse has become one of the most modern marinas in the Northern part of Europe with almost 1000 berths on a very high level of service and customer relations.

Henk said upon receiving his accreditation, “I am very proud to be awarded CMM and being part of a select group of professionals in the industry and I'll try to be a good ambassador for the industry.”

Kerry Marriott CMP, Head of Operations (Central and Chichester) at Marina Developments Limited

Kerry joined MDL in 2001. She started work in the administration department and has worked her way up to Head of Operations over the last 18 years.

Kerry commented, “After completing the Advanced Marina Manager’s course in Athens in October 2018, I’m very proud to have achieved my Certified Marina Professional accreditation. This was one accolade I was determined to achieve and would like to thank both MDL and British Marine for their help and support in achieving this goal.”

Stavros Karnakis CMM, General Manager at Athens Marina S.A

Stavros has worked in the marina industry for the past 10 years at Athens Marina in Greece and has seen the benefit of an AMM course.

Stavros said after being presented his certificate: “I was very sceptical about undertaking the AMM course, thinking there was no real value for me. However, as I finished the Advanced Marina Management course and I achieved my Certified Marina Manager, I can really say that it was a great accomplishment for me and a privilege to be part of this unique network of experienced managers. I am able to share knowledge and best practices across the globe, I have made friends around the world marina industry, I participated in discussions and presentations on many issues, business cases, technical problems and solutions with managers that face the same ones as I do in my line of local marina practice, and all of these with the help of experienced CMM coordinators and British Marine professionals.”
