This week our Head of International Development, Richard Selby, has flown off to Miami International Boat Show and Miami Yacht Show for a packed schedule of high-profile appointmens, guest speaker and panelist slots at key industry events, where he will be representing the interests and concerns of the UK industry.

Richard has been busy meeting with the directors of the Department for International Trades, HM Consul General and representatives from the British Consulate in Miami as well as British Marine’s American equivalent, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), to discuss future opportunities to grow Britain’s £157 million worth of exports to North America.

Yesterday, he took to the stage as guest speaker at the NMMA’s prominent ‘Trade Talks’ seminar. Now in its second year, this popular annual panel-style seminar delivers insights into the recent changes in trade policy as well as offering the opportunity to raise the profile of Britain’s industry.

Throughout his visit, Richard has been supporting the numerous British Marine members exhibiting at the event, introducing them to the HM Consul General and many other influential figures and decision makers in the future trade deals between the US and UK. These include UK companies Nautibuoy Marine, Sunseeker International and Fairline Yachts.

Now in its 78th year and attracting close to 97,400 consumer and trade visitors, the Miami International Boat Show is a must attend for any UK business looking to break into the US or explore the growing market.
