Q: How do I get on a graduate training
programme?
A: Companies generally look for at least a 2:2
in a relevant subject, but specific requirements vary from role to role. The
vast majority of roles are in engineering, design and business, but there are many
directions to choose from.
Q: What opportunities will I have?
A: There are many opportunities on offer – both
in the UK and overseas. From project management and engineering to research and
development, human resources and IT, there are lots of avenues you’ll be able
to explore.
Q: What skills do I need?
A: Customer focus is the top priority in the
marine sector, so you should be a team player
who’s passionate about meeting customers’ needs. You’ll need good analytical
and communication skills, initiative, commercial awareness and motivation.
Q: How competitive are graduate trainee
schemes?
A: This varies from employer to employer. If you see a role that
