James Scott-Anderson

Job Role: Environment, Health & Safety Executive

James joined British Marine in 2018 following a 15-year career in the superyacht industry. Highlights of his career include building the Maltese Falcon and Racing on Mariette of 1915 with Olin Stephens.

At British Marine, James works on environmental issues both form the legislative point of view, understanding how changes may affect members and looking for amendments. On the practical side, it can be advice on marina and boatyard operations or helping to draft ACOPS. He also works on the joint initiative between British Marine and the RYA, The Green Blue, which looks at ways to minimise the marine environmental impact at all levels of the marine sector.

In his spare time, James enjoys racing J70’s, maxis and classics. He is also a member of Hamble Lifeboat Crew, Coffee & Conservation. When he isn’t on the water, he also enjoys opera and reading.
