The Green Blue publishes a new Green Guide for Inland Boat Hire companies

The Green Blue (TGB), the environmental initiative of the Royal Yachting Association and British Marine has published a new Green Guide for Inland Boat Hire companies with a call to ‘go green’ for the 2015 boating season.

The leaflet is the latest addition to The Green Blue’s suite of handy guides and provides inland boat hire companies with a range of quick environmental wins as well as longer term initiatives to make their businesses more sustainable.

The recent Economic Benefits of Boating Tourism report from British Marine found that the UK inland boat hire sector is worth approximately £90million. The vast majority of customers choose to hire an inland narrowboat or motorcruiser for the peace, tranquillity and abundance of wildlife on the inland waterways so it is incumbent on the whole sector to make sure we look after the natural environment.
