Job Role: Head of Training

Blue joined British Marine in 2016 as the Training Manager and is now Head of Training. Prior to joining British Marine, Blue has worked in FE Colleges (Eastleigh College & Southampton City College) and a Private Training Provider (PETA Ltd) for over 10 years with responsibility for managing, delivering and developing curriculum within the Engineering and Construction sectors, including apprenticeships. Blue’s early career was spent in HM Forces (Army) as a Royal Engineer.

Blue is responsible for the development & delivery of training services to member companies, including courses, Apprenticeship Standard development and Careers in the Marine Industry. He is specifically responsible for the suite of Marina Management courses and certifications offered by British Marine through the Global Marina Institute, of which he is a Board Member. He also sits on the Board of the Maritime Skills Alliance and on the Engineering & Manufacturing T Level panel for the Department for Education. Blue, along with the rest of the training team, are responsible for the Marina Conference held every two years and the yearly Apprenticeship Graduation event held during the Boat Show in Southampton.

Blue does parkrun every Saturday morning, which is a free 5k run, held all over the UK and in some other countries around the world. During the Summer he can be found at the local cricket ground watching Hampshire or England.

Blue
